Emergency calls — important limitations

Last updated: June 11, 2026

Browzerphone DOES NOT SUPPORT calls to emergency numbers (112, 911, 999 and others). In a life- or health-threatening situation, use a mobile or landline phone.

No emergency number support

Browzerphone is a browser-based VoIP service and does not provide access to emergency services. An attempt to dial an emergency number (e.g. 112, 911, 999, 998, 997) will not be connected.

No caller location information

Unlike mobile and landline telephony, the service does not provide emergency services with information about the caller's physical location. Even if an emergency call were connected, responders could not automatically determine where you are.

Dependence on internet and power

Calls through the Service require a working internet connection, a working device and power. In emergencies (power outage, network failure) the service may be unavailable exactly when it is needed most.

What to do in an emergency

Always keep an alternative means of communication available — a mobile phone with an active SIM card or a landline. In the European Union, the emergency number 112 works from any mobile phone, even without a SIM card.

Make sure your household members and coworkers know that the browser phone is not a way to call for help.
