Which An Post number to call from abroad
For letters and parcels, An Post's contact page gives one number under "Other enquiries": Post and Parcels, 353 (1) 705 7600. From outside Ireland that is +353 1 705 7600, without the brackets.
The same page puts its chat channels first. Webchat on the contact page is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00 and Saturday from 9:00 to 14:00; WhatsApp for mail and parcel enquiries runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00. A chatbot, OscarBot, answers at any hour in the Help and Support hub.

- 3Expect announcements first. In our test there was a notice about the days ahead, the call recording notice and a welcome in English and Irish; press 0 if you want the message in Irish.
- 4After 60 seconds we were still listening to announcements, with no menu and no queue yet, so we cannot say how long it takes to reach someone. There was no message that the line was closed on Saturday morning.
An Post Money: current account, cards and loans
An Post Money has its own contact page with numbers marked "From abroad". Current account customer services: +353 1 705 8000, Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 18:00, printed as 00 353 1 705 8000. For an emergency or a lost or stolen current account card, the page gives +44 115 965 9218 from abroad (printed as 0044 115 9659218), open 24/7, which is a UK number.
Credit cards and loans: customer service and complaints from abroad on 00 353 7195 94094, which is +353 71 959 4094. The page gives no hours for this line.
Customs charges on parcels
Many calls to An Post are about customs. Its contact page explains that goods bought from outside the EU, Britain included, can carry customs charges that must be paid before delivery, that An Post collects them for Irish Revenue, and that from 3 February 2026 its customs administration fee is €6.95. From 1 July 2026, new EU rules add a minimum import duty of €3 per line item.
Unpaid items are returned to the sender after the "pay by" date, so pay online or at a post office with the customs reference number from the postcard, SMS or email before you call.
When to call from another time zone
An Post gives its hours without a time zone; they are Irish times. Ireland is one hour behind Poland, Germany, France and Spain all year round, so the Post and Parcels line answers from 10:00 to 18:30 on weekdays and from 10:00 to 15:00 on Saturday in those countries.
Hours can change for a day or two. When we called on 7 November 2026, the recording warned that on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 November 2026 the phone lines would run only from 10:00 to 15:00 Irish time, because of security restrictions around EU meetings at the Convention Centre Dublin, while WhatsApp, chat and social media would answer from 9:00 to 17:30.
Call An Post from your browser

Without credit, Browzerphone only allows a free trial call that ends after one minute. In our test the announcements alone took almost that long, so top up first.
