Gecontroleerd met een testgesprek op 7 november 2026Bijgewerkt op 7 november 2026
From abroad, call AIB Phone & Internet Banking on +353 1 771 2424, every day from 9:00 to 17:00 Irish time. AIB prints it as +353 1771 2424 "(Outside Ireland)"; inside Ireland the same service is 0818 724 724. To report fraud at any hour from outside Ireland, AIB gives +353 1 771 5639. In our test call from a US number on Saturday 7 November 2026, the line answered at once with a changed menu: 1 for phone, mobile and internet banking support, 2 to log in to phone banking, 3 for a mortgage, 4 for lending, savings or insurance and 5 for card services. When we pressed nothing, AIB read the menu twice and ended the call after 72 seconds.

Which AIB number to call from abroad
AIB lists an "Outside Ireland" number next to most of its 0818 lines. For everyday banking, online banking and the app, the one you want is Phone & Internet Banking: +353 1 771 2424, Monday to Sunday from 9:00 to 17:00.
AIB asks you to have your Registration Number and Personal Access Code (PAC) ready. The menu its contact page describes is out of date: when we called on 7 November 2026, the recording warned that the options had changed, and the keys were different.
- 1Dial +353 1 771 2424. If your phone cannot enter +, use the international exit code of the country you are in, for example 00.
- 2After a short warning about scams, choose from the menu we heard: 1 for phone, mobile and internet banking support, 2 to log in to phone banking, 3 to apply for a mortgage, 4 for lending, savings or insurance, 5 for card services. The last key comes about 40 seconds into the call.
- 3Press a key the first or second time the menu plays. When we pressed nothing, AIB asked us to make a selection, read the menu again and then ended the call. We did not press any key, so we cannot say what comes next or how long the queue is.
Fraud and lost cards abroad
AIB's Security Centre gives a 24-hour fraud reporting line for callers outside Ireland: +353 1 771 5639. It asks you to call as soon as possible; outside phone hours there is also an online form, which does not deal with general banking queries.
For a lost or stolen card, AIB's contact page still points to key 4 on the Phone & Internet Banking line, but in our test 4 was for lending, savings or insurance and card services had moved to 5. If you are travelling and want to report it to Visa instead, AIB links to Visa's list of local freephone numbers and notes that mobile charges may still apply.
Credit card questions go to AIB Card Services on +353 1 668 5500; AIB asks you to have your card number ready and gives no opening hours for this line.

Business customers and other lines
iBusiness Banking is +353 1 641 4889 from outside Ireland, Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00. AIB Direct Sales uses the same +353 1 771 2424 on weekdays.
Several AIB lines have no outside-Ireland number on the contact page, among them the Arrears Support Unit and existing mortgage support (0818 251 008); we did not check whether the +353 1 771 2424 menu leads to them. AIB also answers on X and Facebook at @AskAIB, Monday to Friday 9:00 to 20:00 and at weekends 9:00 to 17:00.
When to call from another time zone
AIB gives its hours without a time zone; they are Irish times. Ireland is one hour behind Poland, Germany, France and Spain all year round, so 9:00 to 17:00 in Dublin is 10:00 to 18:00 in Warsaw or Madrid.
Call AIB from your browser
Browzerphone dials +353 numbers from a browser tab, with no SIM card and nothing to install, and charges per minute at a published rate that you can check before you call.
Without credit, Browzerphone only allows a free trial call that ends after one minute. In our test the menu alone took about 40 seconds, so top up first if you need to reach someone. The keypad for the menu is in the same tab.
