DHL international phone number: which one to call from abroad

DHL Express's US customer service number is 1-800-CALL DHL (1-800-225-5345), dialled from abroad as +1 800 225 5345; it is a US toll-free number, DHL says nothing about calling it from abroad, and on your own phone outside the US it may not connect. Our test call on 20 October 2026 went out through Browzerphone's US phone provider from a US (+1) number, so it connected as a call within the US, to a voice menu where you say what you need or press 1 to 5. If you are in Europe, DHL Express also lists customer service numbers for the UK, Germany (one of them labelled "International") and Poland, and all three answered our test calls.

DHL Express customer service number in the US

DHL Express US lists Customer Service on 1-800-CALL DHL, that is 1-800-225-5345. Its hours are Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM "AZ Time", with the note that Arizona does not observe daylight saving time. DHL also lists the days it is closed, for example Thanksgiving Day (Nov 26) and Christmas Day (Dec 25).

The page says nothing about calling from outside the US. US toll-free numbers are meant for callers in the US, so on your own phone abroad the call may not connect. Our test call on 20 October 2026 went out through Browzerphone's US phone provider from a US (+1) number, so it connected as a call within the US. That is our result for that day, not a promise from DHL.

The line is a voice menu: you can say what you need or press a key. When we said nothing, it read out the full list of options and then started it again.

  1. 1Dial +1 800 225 5345. If your phone cannot enter +, use the international exit code of the country you are in instead.
  2. 2Say what you need or press a key: 1 schedule a pickup, 2 track a package, 3 rate quote, 4 drop-off location, 5 anything else, such as a billing question or a delivery notice.
  3. 3Option 2 is for when you have a DHL tracking number, so keep it at hand.

DHL Express numbers in the UK, Germany and Poland

DHL Express lists its own customer service numbers in each country. None of the pages names a time zone, so the hours are presumably local time there:

In our test the UK line read a short menu (1 book a collection, 2 track a parcel, 3 arrange delivery, 4 something else) and, when we pressed nothing, said it would transfer us to a customer service advisor; a person probably answered after about 83 seconds. The German "International" line offered pickup, shipment status, prices or something else, plus 5 for DHL Paket, and asked whether you agree to the call being recorded. The Polish line asks for a language first (1 Polish, 2 English) and then splits DHL Express international shipments (1) from domestic parcels and parcels from the Temu platform handled by DHL Parcel and DHL E-Commerce (2).

DHL UK also lists 0844 248 0844 for business customers and says: "Calls to DHL UK phone numbers beginning '084' cost 7 pence per minute, plus your phone company's access charge." DHL Germany lists +49 (0) 228 902 435-11 as its national line. We did not test either of these.

  • Poland: +48 42 6 345 100, dialled as +48 42 634 51 00 (Monday to Friday 7.30 to 17.00, weekends closed)

Other DHL lines and chat

DHL Express US lists two more lines: Billing Assistance on 1-800-722-0081 and Technical Support on 1-800-527-7298. We did not call them. The US, UK and Polish DHL Express pages also offer a chat with a digital assistant, available 24/7.

For DHL Paket or letters, DHL Express Germany lists a separate line, +49 (0) 228 4333112. It is not a DHL Express number, and we did not test it.

Call DHL from your browser

Browzerphone calls phone numbers from a browser tab, with no SIM card and nothing to install, and shows the price per minute before you call; the rates page lists it for the United States, the UK, Germany and Poland. Our test calls went out through Browzerphone's US phone provider from a US (+1) number, which is why DHL's US toll-free number connected in our test. The keypad for the menus is in the same tab.

Without credit, Browzerphone only allows a free trial call, and it ends after one minute. The US menu alone took more than a minute to read out all options in our test, so top up first.

Business customers get 0844 248 0844, which DHL says costs 7 pence per minute plus your phone company's access charge.

Can I reach a person at DHL by phone?

In our test on 20 October 2026, the UK line 0344 248 0012 said it would transfer us to a customer service advisor without any key press, and a person probably answered after about 83 seconds. On the US, German and Polish lines nobody answered within the 90 seconds we listened to the menus.
